TOWIE Lydia Bright on return: 'It feels like I was never gone'

The Only Way Is Essex star Lydia Bright has revealed that she is thrilled to be back on the show.

Bright returned to the show earlier this year after a break, but told Digital Spy and others that she is "so glad" she decided to return.

"Obviously it was such a big decision to make on my return, but yeah, I'm so glad that I decided to come back," she said. "It's been so amazing.

"I had such an enjoyable series last series. I've enjoyed it so much, coming back. I missed being around everyone and the hype of being on the show. I'm glad that I left when I did because I needed my break, but I'm so glad that I'm back now."

She added: "I feel like I was never really gone. I know I was gone for quite a while, like a year and five months, but I think because I did so much that went so quickly. And then I got back and nothing really changed so it was literally as if I'd never been away. I can't really remember my year off. I'm super glad, I'm really happy."

Bright also revealed that she used her time away from the show wisely, saying: "There were a few things that I really wanted to do because I went on TOWIE from such a young age - I was only 18 when I started.

"I never really got to do a lot of things that I wanted to do when I was younger, so I took my time out and I conquered all of those things - I went full steam ahead with my business and did some travelling and went away with my family quite a bit and did some holidays. Then I was refreshed and ready to go back and here I am."

Bright also praised the show for giving her the chance to come back, saying: "I'm very lucky that when I decided I wanted to leave, TOWIE told me it was an open door policy and when I wanted to come back, I was always welcome."

She added that her time off also gave her the chance to establish her business, saying: "That year I had off, I really piled into my clothing collection and I got buyers on board - ASOS, River Island - and worked really hard.

"And now that I'm back on the show I've got people on board that take that over from me. I think once you've done the initial setup of things and got everything under control, you can take more of a back seat and that's what I do with my clothing and also my store as well."

The Only Way Is Essex returns with its Ibiza special on October 8 as part of the launch of new channel ITVBe.
