The thriller series - starring Stuart Townsend and Hannah Ware - will air in the UK in early 2014, Broadcast reports.
Ware (Boss) plays Sara, a photographer whose steamy affair with a lawyer (Townsend) complicates a murder trial.
Betrayal - which is set to premiere on ABC in the US on September 29 - is loosely based on the Dutch drama Overspel.
"We have high hopes for Betrayal becoming an unmissable drama event," said Channel 5 head of acquisitions Katie Keenan .
"The themes of sex, love, loyalty and treachery all combine to make this a compelling and gripping drama."
Betrayal has been acquired by Channel 5 as part of a deal with Disney Media Distribution, which also includes the third and final season of crime procedural Body of Proof.
