Riley has appeared on Countdown since 2009 when she replaced Carol Vorderman.
The 27-year-old, who recently married millionaire Jamie Gilbert, made the announcement in a video on the BBC website.

Golfer Tony Jacklin and TV presenter Vanessa Feltz have also been confirmed for the series.
It was reported yesterday (August 30) that BBC Breakfast host Susanna Reid will take part, though the news has not been officially announced.
Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday, September 7 on BBC One.
