JoAnna Garcia has joined the cast of Once Upon a Time.

The Internship actress has signed up to play the character of mermaid Ariel in the fantasy series.
Creator Adam Horowitz confirmed the news on Twitter on Friday (August 16), tweeting: "So thrilled to welcome @JoAnnaLGarcia to the #OnceUponATime family as our Ariel! Can't wait to bring you under the sea!"
Garcia later tweeted: "Excited 2 share that I'll be swimming to @OnceABC as 'Ariel'! So honoured 2 play such a beloved character!"
The ABC fairytale series will take place in the dark world of Neverland, returning on Sunday, September 29.
Sean Maguire recently joined the cast, replacing Tom Ellis as Robin Hood.
Rose McIver has also signed up to play Tinkerbell in multiple episodes.
