John Cena to leave WWE for 4-6 months after tricep injury

John Cena is to leave WWE for possibly up to six months after injuring his tricep, it has been announced.

The wrestler will undergo surgery on his left torn tricep. He was told by doctors to receive the treatment two weeks ago.

Cena hinted at the news yesterday (August 19) when he posted an Instagram picture which shows a sign displaying: "CHANGE AHEAD"

Cena featured in the weekend's SummerSlam, where he wrestled Daniel Bryan.

Bryan defeated Cena to become the new WWE Champion in the heavily-anticipated main event of WWE SummerSlam, but a shocking turn of events led to Randy Orton leaving the event with the title belt.

WWE SummerSlam was held this year at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, CA.
