Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said he was pleased to have an endorsement from former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin (R) in a CNN interview on Tuesday.
Over the weekend, the former GOP vice presidential candidate told Fox News that she was on "Team Rand."
When asked whether he welcomed Palin's support, Paul said, "absolutely."
"I love an endorsement by Sarah Palin," he told CNN. "What's not to love?"
In proclaiming her support for Paul, Palin was picking a side in the ongoing feud between the senator and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (R). The Republicans have slammed each other with accusations of extreme libertarianism and reckless government spending.
Palin told Fox News that she was siding with Paul because of his vision for smaller government.
"Rand Paul understands. He gets the whole notion of 'don't tread on me' government," said Palin. "Whereas Chris Christie is for big government and trying to go along to get along in so many respects."
