Sonakshi Sinha: 'I'm no damsel in distress'

Sonakshi Sinha has said that it was difficult playing a conventional woman's role in Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai Dobara.

The actor appears opposite Imran Khan and Rowdy Rathore co-star Akshay Kumar in the gangster sequel.

She told Hindustan Times : "I am a strong person and there's no damsel bit in me. I like putting other people in distress!

"As for this role, I thoroughly enjoyed playing it, as my character is pivotal in this love triangle, which is beautifully written. She's stuck and torn between two wonderful men, who are a mentor and protégé. She is an innocent character who comes from Kashmir to Mumbai to become an actor."

The 26-year-old said this week that she is keen on making a biopic of the 1950s actor Madhubala.

In June, Sinha revealed that she took on her role in the period drama Lootera as a personal "challenge".
