'Emmerdale' tops Friday soap ratings with Rhona plot

Emmerdale was Friday evening's (August 30) most-watched soap with the continued aftermath of Rhona's overdose, overnight figures show.

6.16m (34.6%) watched at 7pm on ITV and 264k (1.3%) on +1 as Paddy decided to kick Vanessa out for good.

EastEnders brought in 6.03m (29.4%) at 8pm on BBC One as Dexter was forced to face the music with Phil. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 368k (7.3%) at the later time of 12.30am.


Hollyoaks attracted 832k (5.1%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with Myra's rage over Doctor Browning, while E4's first look had 404k (2.3%) at 7pm and 102k (0.5%) on +1.


Over on Channel 5, Amber's big mistake in Neighbours interested 636k (9.4%) at 1.45pm and 684k (5.4%) at 5.30pm, while another classic airing of Home and Away on 5* interested 59k (0.4%) at 6.30pm.


Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.24m (18.5%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
