The software will deliver information about the fastest routes available and traffic data, as well as allowing drivers to share their estimated time of arrival with others.
"The INRIX Traffic 5.0 app is designed to help drivers make smarter travel choices, so they can spend less time worrying about the commute and more time making the most of the five to nine with friends and family," said INRIX marketing chief Jon Maron.
The INRIX 5.0 app is also available as a standard mobile application for iOS and Android devices, offering many of the same features as the upcoming Google Glass edition.
Google Glass usage among motorists has been a topic of heated debate, with regulators in both the UK and the US calling for a ban on the product behind the wheel.
