The search engine giant will now press forward with the £1 billion ($1.56 billion) venture after receiving the green light from the London Borough of Camden, Bloomberg reports.
Designs for Google's £650 million London HQ
The new structure will play host to around 5,000 Google staff, absorbing the workforce from the firm's offices in Victoria and Holborn.
Filings for building suggest that it will include a swimming pool and have a running track on the roof, as well as house 16 retail stores on the ground floor.
"This is a big investment by Google, we're committing further to the UK - where computing and the web were invented. It's good news for Google, for London and for the UK," said Matt Brittin, vice-president for northern and central Europe at Google.
Google expects to have the 11-storey building completed by next year, with staff ready to move in by 2015.
