The HTC One Max will reportedly land in October.

Sources have told Pocket-lint that the Taiwanese phone-maker will official announce its latest handset on October 15.

Despite the mid-month launch, it's claimed that the 5.9-inch phablet will not be available to buy until later in the month.

Sources state that the HTC One Max will come with the same Snapdragon 600 hardware as the existing HTC One - contradicting previous rumours that it will upgrade to a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor.

It is also thought that a microSD card slot for storage expansion will be on board the device, as well as HTC's BoomSound speakers.

The latest speculation comes after several rumours suggesting the company's newest handset will feature a fingerprint scanner as well as an UltaPixel camera.
