Sushant Singh Rajput has revealed that his latest film Shuddh Desi Romance looks at issues affecting modern India.
The Kai Po Che actor stars opposite Parineeti Chopra in the Yash Raj Films release.
Rajput said of the movie: "I'd say that our youth are confused whether to stick to Indian traditions and culture, where many contradictions and hypocrisy come from stereotypes, male chauvinism and gender bias."
He explained that his latest project is the type of Hindi film that makes audiences think.
"The unique selling point is that it's very real and a one of it's kind film, it is not an escapist film and took a lot of research," he said.
Actress Vanee Kapoor - who makes her debut in the movie - added: "The film speaks of modern love, infatuation and live in relationships.
"A rarely explored subject in Bollywood cinema but shown in a very entertaining way."
Shuddh Desi Romance is out September 6.
