'Breaking Bad': Malcolm in the Middle-themed alternate ending - watch

An alternate ending to AMC's Breaking Bad has surfaced online.

The Malcolm in the Middle-inspired scene sees Bryan Cranston waking up to realise that he is really sitcom father Hal and not drug lord Walter White.

Cranston's Malcolm in the Middle co-star Jane Kaczmarek appears as Lois, listening as Hal relates the strange dream he has just had.

The scene - which is featured on Breaking Bad's final DVD release - also draws parallels to the ending of Newhart, where Bob Newhart wakes up next to the wife from his previous series to reveal that the events on Newhart were just a dream.

Breaking Bad, which also starred Aaron Paul and RJ Mitte, drew to a close in September after five seasons on air. The series finale received widespread acclaim from critics and fans alike.

The venue will be holding an exclusive event which will showcase the series' pilot and the last 16 episodes which made up season five.

Breaking Bad: The Final Season and Breaking Bad: The Complete Series Boxset will be available on DVD on November 25.
