CNN Close To Hiring Brian Stelter As 'Reliable Sources' Host: Report

CNN is close to hiring New York Times media writer Brian Stelter to host "Reliable Sources" and cover the media industry, the Los Angeles Times reported late Monday night.

Stelter has been a regular guest host for the Sunday show since Howard Kurtz left the network earlier this year.

The LA Times' Joe Flint wrote that "an announcement of Stelter's hiring could come as early as this week."

Stelter has previously said he would not leave the Times for television, raising the prospect that, like Kurtz, he would continue to work for another outlet while simultaneously hosting the CNN show.
