Jon Stewart isn't buying Time magazine's defense of its controversial Chris Christie cover.
The magazine recently featured an image of Christie with the headline "Elephant In The Room," which was perceived as a jab at the governor's weight.
Oh, I get it, ’cause he’s large — he’s a large man,” Stewart said on Monday. “That must’ve given your readers a good laugh, whether they encountered your magazine whilst waiting to see a gastroenterologist, or using their grandparents’ bathroom.
After replaying executive editor Michael Duffy's defense of the cover, Stewart exclaimed, "You're still zinging the guy! That's not an apology."
He zinged Time right back with a cover for the Daily Show magazine, which proclaimed Time "a pile of s*!t" — which Stewart joked was just a "figure of speech."
