The 26-year-old singer, who recently lamented her lack of creative control over her music career, arrived at the event in a black Valentino cocktail dress and dramatic gold headpiece.
The star also donned heavy black and gold eye make-up before slipping into a black PVC leotard as she took to the stage at the charity event.
Other guests at the bash, co-hosted by Bollywood stars Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, included Hilary Swank, Sharon Stone and amfAR's chairman, designer Kenneth Cole.
Actress Stone, looking glamorous in a one-shoulder black dress, is amfAR's Global Fundraising Chairperson, and had said prior to the night: "We are grateful and humbled to be welcomed by the Indian community and to share in the wealth of knowledge provided by the Indian people and its government."
The gala raised money and awareness for the Foundation for AIDS Research which also supports HIV prevention and treatment education.
