Carrie Underwood 's live Sound of Music staging helped NBC win the 18-49 demographics in the preliminary ratings on Thursday (December 5).
CBS led off their schedule with The Big Bang Theory dropping to a season low of 4.6 (15.26m) at 8pm, followed by The Millers dropping three tenths of a point over its last new episode to 2.5 (9.38m) at 8.30pm, The Crazy Ones averaging 2.1 (7.66m) at 9pm and Two and a Half Men taking 2.3 (8.33m) at 9.30pm.
The Vampire Diaries was down from its last original airing at 8pm for The CW, garnering 1.0 (2.26m). Reign also fell to 0.6 (1.65m).
The Sound of Music achieved NBC's best non-sports ratings for Thursday since ER's 2009 finale from 8pm to 11pm, by reaching 4.6 (18.50m).

ABC's Once Upon a Time in Wonderland hit 1.0 (3.61m) at 8pm. Grey's Anatomy followed at 9pm with 2.4 (7.48m), and then Scandal took 3.1 (8.60m).
Ratings for ABC may be adjusted due to its Houston affiliate airing a football game.
