The X Factor 2013 judges: Gary Barlow, Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh

Rough Copy exited the show following a sing-off with Luke Friend. The result means that Luke, Sam Bailey and Nicholas McDonald will contest next week's live final at London's Wembley Arena.

Luke took on 'Somewhere Only We Know' by Keane in the sing-off, while Rough Copy performed a rendition of Boyz II Men's 'End Of The Road'.

Gary Barlow remarked that both acts had given below par performances in the sing-off but opted to stand by his act Rough Copy. Louis Walsh also stood by Luke and voted to send him into the final.

Nicole Scherzinger told Luke that he is a "diamond in the rough" but voted in favour of Rough Copy. An emotional Sharon Osbourne decided to take the decision to Deadlock.

Dermot O'Leary then revealed that Luke had received the most votes out of the pair and that he would be joining Sam and Nicholas in next week's final.

Following the group's exit, Rough Copy's Joey James said: "Just being here is a highlight. I thank Gary for everything he has done for us. I thank the whole X Factor team for everything they have done for us. I thank all our friends and family for always being here."

On The Xtra Factor, the group thanked their fans for getting them as far as the semi-final.

Asked how he felt to be going into the final without an act, Barlow said: "I know. I'm really disappointed for the boys, but obviously at this point we've seen all the acts put so much heart and soul into it. Of course, I'm pleased for the other three acts, but I'm really gutted for the boys.

"They wanted to go to the final, they wanted to experience it. For them, it's not about winning or losing, it's about getting experience. That's what they've always said from day one."

The latest live results show of the year saw live performances from Leona Lewis and Michael Bublé.

Meanwhile, the final four came together for a performance of Stevie Wonder's 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours' at the start of the programme

The X Factor live final begins next Saturday (December 14) at 8pm on ITV. Gary Barlow and Elton John, The Killers, One Direction, Katy Perry and Tom Odell will perform at Wembley Arena across the weekend.
