Analyst Sun Chang Xu claims that the firm's next flagship device is likely to feature pressure, temperature and humidity-monitoring capabilities, G for Games reports.
The pressure sensor is said to be used for monitoring environmental data, rather than blood pressure, which can already be tracked using a range of third-party accessories.
However, Apple is expected to include such built-in features in its rumoured iWatch, which is tipped to feature a health and fitness focus.
Xu claims that the wearable device will sport optical sensors that measure heart rate and oxygen levels in a bid to gain ground on Samsung, which has included a built-in heart monitor in its Galaxy S5 smartphone.
Apple's upcoming iOS 8 operating system was recently glimpsed in leaked screenshots, which included an icon for the rumoured Healthbook fitness application.
