How I Met Your Mother's executive producer Craig Thomas has spoken about the comedy's forthcoming series finale.
The Jason Segel comedy will draw to an end with an hour-long conclusion later this month after nine seasons on CBS.
How I Met Your Mother airs its series finale on March 31
According to Variety , Thomas remained vague when he was asked about fan theories that have suggested that Ted's (Josh Radnor) future wife, played by Cristin Milioti, may die in the near future.
Speaking at Saturday night's PaleyFest panel, he said: "I think one of the great things about How I Met Your Mother is it's surprising.
"It does super weird things at times and thank you guys for going with it. What a weird show it is."

He also described the introduction of Cristin Milioti's character as "an amazing moment" of the comedy's run.
"Imagine if we'd cast that role wrong; there'd be no show," he said. "We'd just have to issue an apology and go off the air.
"That was such an amazing moment. And also sort of a slightly mischievous, gleeful feeling of 'We got to wait nine f**kng years'."

Meanwhile, actress Alyson Hannigan spoke about how she felt filming her final scenes with on-screen husband Segel.
"[I thought], 'Wow, this is the last time I'm going to be lying in bed with this bozo'. Everything was so sentimental that week. I think this whole season we just got to really appreciate how fantastic this whole journey has been."
She added that the cast didn't take their experience "for granted" while working on the ninth season.
How I Met Your Mother will wrap up its ninth and final season with a double bill on March 31.
