Playlist: 10 tracks you need to hear - Sia, Cher Lloyd, Calvin Harris, more

Listen to ten of our favourite new songs below, including tracks by Sia , Cher Lloyd, Calvin Harris, Jay Z, Daft Punk and SBTRKT.

Tanika: 'F**king with My Heart' (released April 28)

While rising star Tanika has worked with the likes of StarGate and Naughty Boy on tracks for her upcoming debut album, her latest cut is helmed by underground producers Sunny and Bodhi (Sampha, London Grammar). The end result is a mix of Italo piano lines, pumping bass and bags of star quality.

Daft Punk ft. Jay Z: 'Computerized' (NA)

It seems Kanye isn't the only Watch The Throne rapper to have worked with The Robots. Jay Z's effort with the French duo - believed to have originated during their sessions for the Tron: Legacy soundtrack - hears him lay down his best tech metaphors over an addictive electronic beat. Surely a third Tron film would be worth it if we get a final version of this, right? Right.

Calvin Harris: 'Summer' (released April 27)

If breaking Michael Jackson's UK chart record with his last album has resulted in any added pressure on future expectation, Calvin Harris isn't letting it show on his new single. The cut is a euphoric club-stomper that is fully charged for a summer of heavy rotation.

Prides: 'The Seeds You Sow' (out now)

For a relatively unknown band, Prides are bursting on to the scene with a very big sound. Their latest track is primed for an arena setting, and with their brand of rousing rock echoing recent success stories like Bastille and Imagine Dragons, don't be surprised if they follow in their footsteps soon.

Cher Lloyd: 'Sirens' (TBC)

The X Factor alum may be angry about the continued delay of her second studio album, but that doesn't stop her new single from sounding remarkably serene compared to her previous output. Cher's bratty edge has been replaced with soaring vocals and heartfelt sentiments for a mid-tempo ballad that could get her upcoming release back on track.

The Ramona Flowers: 'Tokyo' (released April 21)

The British band have been putting out very very good songs for 18 months now, which has gained them support slots for the likes of Bastille, Bombay Bicycle Club and Foxes. Their latest single is slightly heavier and darker than their previous efforts, but their knack for a swirling anthem with airy guitars and spaced beats is fully intact.

Lady Gaga: 'Brooklyn Nights' (N/A)

Mere days after Lady Gaga confirmed the existence of ARTPOP Vol. 2, this pumping pop number recorded by the star appears online. Whether it's part of the currently unreleased project remains to be seen, but with a bit of extra tweaking and possibly some speeding up in parts, it has the potential to be a trademark Lady Gaga anthem.

Sia: 'Chandelier' (out now)

She may have penned massive hits for the likes of Rihanna, David Guetta and Ne-Yo in recent years, but Sia has made sure to hold back some of her best work for her own album. The first cut to be lifted from her forthcoming collection is a swooping serenade that will have us all swinging on light fittings in no time.

Say Lou Lou: 'Everything We Touch' (released May 19)

The Kilbey sisters continue their run of very good indie pop releases with their new single. The track is shimmering, pounding and effortlessly stylish, that makes the currently-scheduled September release of their debut album seem even further away.

SBTRKT: 'Kyoto' (released May 19)

Before the London producer unveils his second studio album, he's decided to release six new tracks over three EPs aptly titled Transitions. The instrumental cuts serve as a catalyst between his two albums and help ease us in to his new direction. 'Kyoto' is a particular highlight with its spaced beats and whirring bassline holding up Japanese-flecked riffs.
