The Voice: First four singers eliminated in live quarter-final

The Voice eliminated four singers during tonight's (March 22) quarter-final.

Iesher Haughton , Rachael O'Connor, Georgia Harrup and Emily Adams became the first casualties of this year's live shows after losing out in the public vote.

Haughton - who performed Clean Bandit's 'Rather Be' - lost out in the public vote to Sophie May Williams, after will.i.am awarded his fast pass to Jermain Jackman earlier in the evening.

Rachael was praised after her performance of McFly hit 'Shine A Light', but lost her place in the competition after going head-to-head with Lee Glasson.


Kylie Minogue sent Jamie Johnson through to the semi-finals earlier in the show after his performance of 'A Thousand Miles'.

Team Tom's Georgia exited the competition after losing out in the public vote to Bizzi Dixon. Earlier in the evening, Sally Barker was awarded an automatic spot in the semi-final.

Finally, Chris Royal progressed at the expense of Emily, who won praise for her performance of Pharrell Williams's global hit 'Happy'. Christina Marie was awarded a fast pass by coach Ricky Wilson.


Next week's semi-final will see the coaches perform with their two remaining artists, before four more singers are eliminated from the competition.


The Voice continues next Saturday (March 29) at 7pm on BBC One.
