Launching simultaneously on three UK channels tonight, this documentary series explores how we first discovered the laws of nature and brings to life the wonders of the universe in space and time.

Hosted by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, the series will retain elements from 1980's original Carl Sagan series, including the Cosmic Calendar and the Ship of the Imagination, combining scientific storytelling with visual and emotional elements.

Harry's South Pole Heroes: ITV, 8pm

Prince Harry during the Walking with the Wounded South Pole Allied Challenge

This two-part documentary follows Prince Harry and a group of wounded ex-servicemen as they travel to the South Pole in order to raise money and awareness for Walking With The Wounded.

The trek covered a grand total of 200km and was built up of three teams, representing the UK, US and the commonwealth.

In this first episode, we see the UK team, led by Harry, saying goodbye to The Queen at Buckingham Palace before beginning gruelling training, including being in a freezer which was 30 degrees celsius colder than it was in Iceland.

Top Gear: BBC Two, 8pm

Top Gear: Richard Hammond, Jeremy Clarkson, James May

The series concludes tonight with the second part of the Burma challenge. After a busy first episode, the pace continues as Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May must now enter into the Shan state, an area renowned for violence and usually closed to any TV crews.

The trio must navigate this unpredictable climate and make it to Thailand where their final challenge begins - to build a bridge over the River Kwai.

Educating Joey Essex: ITV2, 9pm

Joey Essex in Africa for new ITV2 show

After his stint in the jungle, the reality star is back on TV with his own show Educating Joey Essex.

Swapping Australia for Africa, Joey attempts to learn more about the African wildlife and culture - specifically his childhood love of monkeys.

Joey's African adventures take him to the Kruger National Park where his nerves are put to the test once again as he camps out alone all night next to a pack of hyenas. He then moves on to Uganda to visit the Ngamba Island's chimpanzee sanctuary.
