The USA Network police procedural series will come to an end with a reduced six-episode season, according to Deadline .
The final series is reportedly a compromise between the idea of a one-off TV movie, mini-series and full-length season conclusion.
White Collar was moved to the fall for the first time since its first season last year, but achieved decent ratings in January, averaging 2.8 million viewers.
Earlier this year, it was reported that the USA Network was in favour of bringing the series back for a reduced season, while producer Fox TV Studios had hoped for a full season.
The fifth season of White Collar - which concluded on January 30 - ended on a cliffhanger as Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer ) was kidnapped by mystery assailants.
In the UK, the show previously aired on Sky Living and Alibi, but currently has no home.
