Yahoo! is reportedly considering the launch of its own video service, approaching YouTube stars in the process.

Sources told Re/code that the internet corporation wants to poach individual YouTube personalities and networks from its Google-owned competitor.

In a bid to lure video makers and owners, Yahoo! is apparently offering more money than YouTube.

These include greater advertising revenue and guaranteed advertising rates for their videos, as well as improved marketing solutions that comprises of home page exposure for maximum traffic.

However, Yahoo! is more interested in popular, professionally-made content compared to YouTube's open platform.

Plans are currently in the works, with the service looking like it will launch over the next few months.

It is also claimed that Yahoo! could attempt to buy existing video sites such as Vimeo.

Last year, Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer eyed up a potential takeover of Dailymotion until the bid was quashed by the French government.
