The man is alleged to have gained access to the actress's London home and tried again at her LA residence earlier this month, according to court documents obtained by E! Online .
The order - granted on Friday (April 18) - restricts Nickolaos Gavrilis from being no closer than 100 yards from Paltrow, Chris Martin and their two children.
It is claimed that Gavrilis has been "stalking and harassing Petitioner on two continents, has not stopped despite warnings from police, has previously been convicted of harassment by a criminal court and presents an immediate danger that great or irreparable harm would result if an order did not issue immediately".
The individual is alleged to have falsely claimed that he had a business appointment with Paltrow relating to Iron Man and Avengers scripts in September 2012 to get past security at her London home, and tried again in April 2013.
Family director of security Tony Abbott labelled Gavrilis as a "potential threat" in the documents, after also spotting him two blocks away from Paltrow's celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson's studio and noticing Facebook posts on Paltrow's wall, saying: "Hi Gwyneth, nice picture. See you in LA! Love Nick!"
A hearing to decide whether the restraining order should be made permanent is scheduled to take place on May 12.
Paltrow and Martin announced that they had split up after ten years of marriage last month.
