Justin Bieber is reportedly being detained at LAX airport after trying to return home from a recent trip to Japan. Us Weekly is reporting that the "Boyfriend" singer was held at customs and questioned by officials after landing at 1 p.m. PT.
According to TMZ, customs officers performed a secondary search on the singer because of his legal record.
Bieber's trip to Asia was hardly a carefree one. He came under scrutiny when he posed in front of the Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo, Japan, which honors former military leaders who committed war atrocities during the Pacific War.
In an Instagram post following the incident, Justin explained that he did not know of the Shrine's reputation. "While in Japan I asked my driver to pull over for which I saw a beautiful shrine. I was mislead to think the Shrines were only a place of prayer."
