EastEnders' Declan Bennett sports '100% Cotton' tattoo for Soap Awards

EastEnders star Declan Bennett is sporting a special tattoo ahead of the British Soap Awards.

The actor - who plays mysterious Charlie Cotton on the BBC One soap - has had a '100% Cotton' design inked on his neck for the ceremony, which takes place tonight (May 24) at London's Hackney Empire.

He revealed the temporary inking on Twitter as he prepared for the event, writing: "Tattoo as promised. Right. Let's go clean up at the Soap Awards."

EastEnders is nominated for 15 awards at the prizegiving, including Best Soap, Best Actor for Danny Dyer (Mick Carter) and Best Actress for Lindsey Coulson (Carol Jackson) and Lacey Turner (Stacey Slater).

The British Soap Awards air on Sunday night (May 25) at 8.15pm on ITV. Get the Inside Soap magazine on your iPhone or iPad
