Sony Pictures Classics has acquired the US rights to documentary The Salt of the Earth.
The Salt of the Earth follows Juliano Ribeiro's father Sebastião on a photographic journey devoted to the world's natural beauty.

The Wim Wenders and Juliano Ribeiro Salgado film won the Un Certain Regard section's Special Prize Award at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival.
The Salt of the Earth follows Juliano Ribeiro's father Sebastião on a photographic journey devoted to the world's natural beauty.
"I'm very happy that my long-lasting relation with Sony Pictures Classics can continue now with The Salt of the Earth," Wenders said.
Juliano Ribeiro added: "Sony Pictures Classics has the legacy of releasing some of the most compelling films of our times.
