George RR Martin will name a future character in the fan's honour
Fans who pledge the maximum £20,000 will receive a character named in their honour in a future Song of Ice and Fire novel, with a typically grisly death promised by Martin.
The author's Prizeo page explains: "There is one male character and one female character available. You can choose your character's station in the world (lordling, knight, peasant, whore, lady, maester, septon, anything) and you will certainly meet a grisly death!"
A donation of £15,000 wins you a breakfast with Martin, while £7,500 wins you the author's hat or tickets to the Game of Thrones season five premiere.
Meanwhile, anyone making a donation will automatically be entered into a prize draw to fly out to Santa Fé to meet Martin, with a friend. The winner will go to the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary for a special tour with the writer.
Martin recently revealed that he doesn't think seven seasons of Game of Thrones will be enough to tell his story.
