Goode debuted as a guest star on the CBS drama's fifth run, but was later promoted to regular status.
His character - hotshot prosecutor Finn Polmar - will continue to feature as a regular in season six, TVLine reports.
Goode's arrival followed the surprise departure of Josh Charles from The Good Wife - with the latter's character Will Gardner being killed off in a surprise twist.
Charles branded the decision to write Will out in violent fashion "powerful and strong and shocking".
The Good Wife airs on CBS (Sundays at 9/8c) in the US and on More4 (Thursdays at 9pm) in the UK.
