Kapoor was recently hospitalised after suffering a chest infection.
Writing on Twitter, Bachchan said: "May the Almighty be by the side of one that has been ill in the Hospital for a few days and make him his usual self again..!"
Kapoor, 76, was admitted on September 21 to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital after he complained of acute cough and breathlessness.
Amitabh Bachchan shared screen space with Kapoor in numerous films in the '70s including Trishul, Silsila, Kabhie Kabhie, Do Aur Do Panch and Namak Halaal.
One of the most memorable scenes between the two actors is the emotional stand-off between them in Deewar.
