Apple named 'coolest brand' in Britain for third year running

Apple has been named the 'coolest brand' in Britain for the third year running, according to an annual survey.

The CoolBrands list sees the iPhone maker atop once again, among Google, YouTube and Netflix who also land in the top ten, at number six, seven and ten respectively.

It is the first time that streaming service Netflix has broken into the top 20 list, which is complied by 2000 consumer voters and a select panel of 37 key influencers, which included Ella Eyre , Labrinth, Laura Mvula, Sophie Dahl, Jodie Kidd this year.

Instagram also made its way up the list at number 14, followed by Bose at 15 and Sony at 18.


Meanwhile, Twitter and the BBC iPlayer failed to make the cut this year, falling out of the top 20.

CoolBrands spokesman Stephen Cheliotis said: "[Instagram and Netflix] have had an impact on the market, shaking up the status quo and forcing rivals to up the ante.

"Apple, however, continues to dominate the listing and remains untouchable for now."
