The Replacements return to New York with Jackson 5's 'I Want You Back'

The Replacements returned to New York on Friday (September 19) performing a cover of Jackson 5's 'I Want You Back'.

It's the first time the band have performed in the area in 23-years, as part of their reunion tour.

Original members Paul Westerberg and bassist Tommy Stinson were joined by guitarist Dave Minehan and drummer Josh Freese for the tour, which kicked off in August last year.

The band also performed a cover of Chick Berry's 'Maybellene' as well as their own hits 'Take Me Down to the Hospital', 'Bastards of Young', 'Can't Hardly Wait' and 'Alex Chilton'.

Next on The Replacements tour schedule is Tempe, Arizona on September 27, before the band descend on Austin, Texas for the Austin City Limits Festival on October 5 and October 12.
