Although this story starts out sounding like a real-life version of “Carrie,” don’t worry: it has a very happy ending, featuring maximum heartwarming acts of friendship and zero projectile buckets of pigs blood.
At Grand Prairie High School in Texas, a nasty group of girls decided to mess with 17 year-old classmate Lillian Skinner, telling her that she’d been nominated for homecoming queen only to then reveal the prank and have a laugh at having duped her. But thanks to Lillian’s friends Anahi Alvarez and Naomi Martinez, the joke backfired spectacularly: the two girls, who were both up for the homecoming crown, made a pact to pass the honor over to Lillian if either one of them won. And when Anahi did, she didn’t waste any time handing her friend the crown — which looks awesome on her, by the way. Take that, mean girls.
