Amazon's Game Controller accessory, which helps the platform double as a games console, is also available from today (October 23).

The Apple TV rival is listed as 'in stock' on the internet retailer's website and pre-orders are currently being shipped to customers.

Fire TV comes with Amazon's own services, such as Prime Instant Video, baked in, but also grants users access to other streaming platforms, such as Netflix, BBC iPlayer, Demand 5, and Spotify.
The set-top box includes voice controls, Amazon's X-Ray service for serving users with supplemental information during movie and TV viewing, and access to the Amazon Appstore.
Amazon's Fire TV is priced at £79.
