Ben Whishaw stars as Wellington-less Paddington in new promo

Ben Whishaw 's take on Paddington Bear can be heard for the first time in a new promo.

The Skyfall actor voices the iconic cartoon character in the upcoming Paddington movie, co-produced by Heyday Films and StudioCanal.

Producer David Heyman also addresses the lack of Paddington's Wellington boots in the promo. He explains that author Michael Bond didn't originally include the boots, but that they were added when toys began being produced.

Colin Firth was originally due to voice the bear, but was replaced by Whishaw after it was decided by studio executives that his voice did not suit the character.

Michael Gambon, Hugh Bonneville, Nicole Kidman, Sally Hawkins, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi and Julie Walters are also among the cast of the film.

Paddington's world premiere will be held at Odeon Leicester Square on November 23, ahead of its UK release on November 28.
