Booth was fired by Lord Sugar before the final boardroom after confessing that she wasn't up to the challenge of battling against the other 17 candidates.
"I just didn't have the confidence to do it and it was making me feel down," she told Digital Spy.
"When we lost the task I thought it was my time to go, and if I stayed quiet I'd be brought back in the boardroom and get fired from there. But Lord Sugar started questioning me before that and I just thought, 'I'll tell him how I really feel'.
"On task one I felt okay, but when the selling and pitching got involved, I didn't have the confidence to do it."
She added: "When I've watched the programme, I always thought I'd be quite good at that. Obviously I've learned that wouldn't be the case and I've also learned to stop talking to the TV. We all watch The Apprentice and think we could do it, but in the moment, I just didn't have the confidence.
"It was way out of my comfort zone. None of these candidates could teach a child to swim, but alternately, I can't sell."
Explaining what her business proposition for Lord Sugar was going to be, she commented: "It's something that I might still look into. It was to do with survival swimming. Children don't know about survival swimming and swimming with their clothes on.
"That's why so many children drown. It doesn't matter if you have the best swimming technique in the world, it won't save you if you're in the water with your clothes. Children today are willing to take risk after risk, so we need to prepare them.
"In this country, the standard of swimming for an 11-year-child on the National Curriculum is 25 metres. 25 meters is a poor standard of swimming for an 11-year-old. That should be scrapped and they should do survival swimming."
