The first episode of the second season was seen by an average audience of 1.1 million (5.2%) from 8pm. A further 174k (0.8%) tuned in on Channel 4+1.
It was followed by Gogglebox, which was seen by 2.95 million (13.8%) at 9pm, and Alan Carr: Chatty Man with 1.34 million (8.4%) at 10pm. Channel 4's evening ended with 560k (7.4%) for The Feeling Nuts Comedy Night at 10pm.
With an average audience of 4.33 million (19.9%) at 9pm, BBC One's Have I Got News for You was among the evening's most watched shows.
An hour-long episode of Lewis also proved popular, playing to an average audience of 4.31 million (20.1%) at 9pm on ITV.
Secrets from the Sky also proved popular for ITV, attracting 2.3 million viewers (11%) at 8pm.
BBC One's evening began with 3.77 million (20%) for The One Show at 7pm, followed by 2.88 million (14.5%) for A Question of Sport at 7.30pm.
After an episode of EastEnders, BBC One's night continued with 3.14 million (14.5%) for Would I Lie to You? at 8.30pm, and 3.35 million (15.8%) for Not Going Out at 9.30pm.
With guests including Benedict Cumberbatch and Miranda Hart, The Graham Norton Show rounded off the night with 3.45 million (25.3%) at 10.35pm.
The final episode of BBC Two's Big Dreams Small Spaces entertained 1.3 million (6.7%) at 7pm, followed by 1.59 million (7.5%) for The BBC Children in Need Sewing Bee at 8pm.
Tom Kerridge's Best Ever Dishes continued with 910k (4.2%) at 9pm, Gardeners' World played to 1.22 million (5.8%) at 9.30pm and QI finished things off with 1.69 million (9.6%) at 10pm.
Over on Channel 5, Rome: The World's First Superpower was seen by 855k (4%) at 8pm, followed by 795k (3.7%) for Alex Polizzi's Secret Italy and 619k (3.8%) for a Body of Proof at 10pm.
BBC Four's showing of Agnetha: Abba & After was among the highest-rated multichannel shows, entertaining 570k (5.8%) at 11pm.
