The 'Stay With Me' singer was triumphant in the Best R&B/Soul Act, Best Male, Best Album and Best Song categories at the ceremony last night (October 22).

Smith dedicated his awards to his fans, saying: "This is truly a dream come true. It feels amazing. I hardly ever win awards and I never got awards in school for anything so it is really surreal for me to have [all these] in one day."
The singer also explained: "I can always find a reason to be sad in life. I think honest songs make the best songs, and whether they are sad or happy, they have just got to be relatable."

The event, which celebrates Music of Black Origin, was hosted by Mel B and Sarah-Jane Crawford and saw performances from Jessie J, Professor Green and Nicole Scherzinger.
Jessie J also beat Rita Ora, FKA twigs, Katy B and Marsha Ambrosius to win the award for Best Female.
Elsewhere Ella Eyre was awarded the gong for Best Newcomer and Beyoncé was given the Best International accolade.
