Ricki and the Flash follows a woman (Streep) who lost her family while chasing her dream of becoming a rock star.

The Captain America: The Winter Soldier actor will star in the rock and roll film alongside Meryl Streep, reports Deadline.

Ricki and the Flash follows a woman (Streep) who lost her family while chasing her dream of becoming a rock star.
Ricki is then given one final chance at stardom and to make things right with her family. Stan, who has also been cast in Ridley Scott's The Martian , will play her estranged son Joshua.
Directed by Jonathan Demme, the film also stars Kevin Kline, Rick Springfield and Emily Owens, M.D actress Mamie Gummer. The screenplay was penned by Juno's Diablo Cody.
Ricki and The Flash is scheduled for a 2015 release at cinemas.
