The November update introduces custom backgrounds to the homepage, letting users initially set unlocked Achievement art as their background images.
According to Larry 'Major Nelson' Hryb and Xbox engineer Richard Irving, the feature will eventually allow users to set any image as their background by using Xbox One's media files.
Focusing on personalisation, users can add bios and locations to their profile, as well as a selection of their favourite game clips and Achievements.
Twitter integration lets fans share game DVR clips directly to followers on the social media site.
Trending lists, meanwhile, will show what's trending on Twitter, Xbox Live and among users in the local area.
October's update focused on Snap and Friends functions, as well as improvements to TV and video.
The Xbox One recently added a Vine app, although it currently lacks Upload features.
