Ariana Grande Will Perform At This Year’s NBA All-Star Game

The NBA All-Star Game just found it’s shortest star for the night: Ariana Grande.

That’s because the NBA announced on Thursday (Jan. 22) that the pint-sized singer with a voice more powerful than a LeBron James dunk will be hitting the court at Madison Square Garden to perform at halftime of the NBA All-Star Game on Feb. 15.

Last year, Janelle Monae performed at halftime of the game, while Kendrick Lamar headlined the musical portion of All-Star Saturday Night (the game itself is on Sunday). In other recent years, Kanye West, Drake, Rihanna and Alicia Keys have hit the halftime stage.

If the My Everything singer wants to fuel those Mariah Carey comparisons she’s been getting since emerging into the mainstream, she could consider wearing a jersey dress like Mariah did during her halftime performance at All-Star in 2003 (see below for a stroll down memory lane).

Your call though, Ari.

The game tips off at 8 p.m. and will air on TNT.
