It's hard out here for a pup—just look at this li'l guy!

Budweiser's "Lost Dog" Super Bowl XLIX ad debuted Wednesday on NBC News' Today . Last year's rambunctious yellow lap puppy is back, only this time, he accidentally gets separated from his human (played by actor Don Jeanes) and his Clydesdale horse BFF.

Cue the waterworks! As Sleeping At Last's "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" plays in the background, the adorable dog hopelessly weaves in and out of busy streets, wanders in and out of abandoned buildings and cowers pitifully in the rain beneath a makeshift shelter. He misses his #BestBuds!

His human and the Budweiser Clydesdale look absolutely distraught, and they post "Lost Dog" flyers near and far, desperate to bring their pal home.

Only, before the pup can reunite with his pals, he encounters a big, bad wolf. The mud-streaked sweetie lets out a heartbreaking whimper, knowing he's in danger. He bravely puts his best bark forward, too, but he's no match for the ferocious, growling animal that's gearing up to eat him!
