Ryan Knight may have never nabbed the top prize during his “Challenge” stints, but the “Real World: New Orleans” alum was an unforgettable presence among his fellow competitors. The MTV star, who died suddenly at the age of 28 on Thanksgiving, made his final appearance on the network during last night’s “Battle of the Exes 2″ episode: He and his former girlfriend Jemmye were defeated in The Dome by newbies Adam and Brittany.
“I’m Ryan Knight — the man, the myth, the legend,” the Wisconsin native jokingly stated in his last interview, shortly after he was ousted from the game. “Often imitated, never duplicated,” he continued with a chuckle.
Shortly after the couple’s elimination, his fellow NOLA roommates Jemmye and Preston — as well as Johnny Bananas, Nany and Camila — tearfully shared their memories of their dear pal during an after-show, featured below.
“From the moment we met, I think we knew that there was something very different and very special,” Jemmye reflected.
Meanwhile, Preston has a slightly different first impression about his “Rivals 2″ partner.
“I thought he was a jerk when I first met him,” P said point-blank. “Then, throughout the season, on the ‘Real World,’ he and I became really good friends.” While the duo endured their fair share of “ups and downs,” Preston explained that nobody could push his buttons quite like Knight.
“But at the same time he did it, it made me stronger,” Preston continued, before revealing that he “appreciated the guy so much.”
