Teacher Suspended After Blasting Students For Talking About Sex Party With Other Teachers

Art teacher Sean Kane was suspended this week after reportedly going on a rant against the high school students who allegedly had sex with two teachers during an overnight beach party in December.

Kane joins two of his colleagues at South Hill High School on paid leave after a Facebook screed (since deleted) in which he took the two teenagers to task for speaking out about the party, telling them whey should have kept their “stupid mouths shut.”

According to the Los Angeles Times , Kane was working until Wednesday, when the district became aware of the post and suspended him in order to investigate the incident. Covina Valley Unified School District spokesperson Michelle Van Der Linden said Kane’s comments were unbecoming of a teacher and that it was inappropriate to condone the teachers’ behavior.

The New York Daily News posted a purported copy of the deleted comments from Kane, which read:

I just got one thing to say. As many of you know especially those of you whom were once former students and now adults and are my friends on facebook and posting about it two female teachers (colleagues of mine) got arrested for going on summer vacations with and sleeping with some of the male students… Hey… all I gotta say is EVERYONE KNEW MISS [redacted] who was the high school algebra teacher (who also flunked me twice for not “showing my work”) w/as f—ing the popular senior boys at my highschool when I was there. So what?!.. All I want to know is what the f— is in the heads of the dudes who banged these ladies and then squealed? … S–t man! You should have just kept your stupid mouths shut and enjoyed it. I have no idea what the f— is going on anymore.

Melody Lippert, 38, and Michelle Ghirelli, 30, were arrested Saturday after being accused of taking a group of male students on a non school-sponsored overnight beach camping trip where they allegedly provided alcohol to and had sex with the students.

Some students have started a #FreeKane campaign for the teacher, with some decrying his suspension and others saying his rant was not out of character for the teacher.

I'm so fancy.
