Kid Ink moves quickly. At the top of 2014, the California MC dropped his major label debut, My Own Lane , and on Feb. 3, a little over a year later, Ink is returning for a second lap with Full Speed.
With such a fast turnaround it’s hard to imagine that the “Body Language” rapper has time for any activities outside of the studio, but we were able to convince Ink to take a break from recording and join MTV News at Pole Position Raceway in Jersey City, New Jersey.
After a in-depth interview where we talked about everything from Ink’s creative process to his working relationship with Chris Brown, who appears on the new album, I challenged him to a go-kart race.
We even put a little wager up. If I win, Ink will have to release a song titled “Rob,” featuring Chris Brown and produced by DJ Mustard. If Ink wins, I’ll have to write an article about him. You’re reading this article, so you can already guess how this one turns out.
