After the utter wish-fulfilling perfection of yesterday’s “Ghostbusters” cast announcement, it seems almost greedy to ask Hollywood for anything else.
I mean, Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones as a team of supernatural spirit-hunters? ‘Scuse us while we hyperventilate forever into a bag of Stay-Puft marshmallows. But hey, now that we have our cast of proton-packing lady ghostbusters, it only makes sense to start talking about the supporting characters.
Ghostbusting is about so much more than the principal busters of ghosts, after all.
Although we don’t know for sure whether the “Ghostbusters” reboot will have anything in common with the original (although hopefully certain classic elements will remain, i.e. we will be going to this movie specifically to see Melissa McCarthy deliver the iconic line, “This man has no dick”), we can guess that a few characters from the 1984 “Ghostbusters” will have doppelgangers in the new film. And we know just who ought to play them:
