Is David Duchovny returning to The X-Files and Twin Peaks?

David Duchovny has hinted that he may return to the new series of Twin Peaks.

The actor, who played DEA agent Denise Bryson in the crime drama, said he thinks the character will return to screens.

Duchovny told LA Times : "Seems like it. I would bet on it if I were you. I think Twin Peaks is happening for sure. I hope my character comes back, I think she does."

Sheryl Lee, Dana Ashbrook, Sherilyn Fenn and Kyle MacLachlan have already confirmed they will be appearing in the long-awaited third season of David Lynch and Mark Frost's drama.

The actor remained vague about a possible return to The X-Files with co-star Gillian Anderson.

"Fox made some kind of shadowy announcement last week. Certainly, something's happening. Something's brewing," he said.

Duchovny previously said that he would be "happy" to reprise his role as FBI Special Agent Fox Mulder, but only for a limited run.

Fresh rumours of an X-Files revival were sparked earlier this month when the possibility of a limited series was raised by broadcaster Fox at the TCA press tour.
