The medical drama, based on Ryan McGarry's critically-acclaimed documentary of the same name, takes place in the busiest ER in America.

It centres on four residents entering ER medicine.
Hollingsworth joins as Mario, one of the new residents. He is described as keen but arrogant, according to Deadline .
The actor has had roles in Cult , Backstrom and The Tomorrow People.
Maggie Grace, Marcia Gay Harden, Raza Jaffrey, Luis Guzman and Melanie Kannokada were previously cast in the project.
Code Black is written by Michael Seitzman and will be directed by David Semel.
